Johnny Wactor: Former ‘General Hospital’ actor shot dead in Los Angeles


Former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was shot and killed Saturday while stopping thieves in downtown Los Angeles, according to his agent and CNN affiliate KABC.

The actor, who played Brando Corbin on the hospital soap opera, was shot while leaving work Saturday morning, his mother told KABC,

In a statement to CNN, Vactor’s agent, David Shaull, described him as a wonderful human being, “not only a talented actor committed to his work, but a true moral example to all who knew him.”

Scholl said Vector was the epitome of hard work and perseverance and strove to be the best. “Our time with Johnny was a privilege we all wished for. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After more than a decade together, he will forever leave a hole in our hearts.”

Vactor’s mother, Scarlett Vactor, spoke to CNN Affiliate KABC And confirmed his death.

He said his son was walking with a co-worker after work at a rooftop bar in the city when he noticed someone working on a car.

Scarlett Vactor told KABC that her son initially thought his car was being towed, and he walked up to the man to ask why. Instead, the suspect looked up and opened fire, she said.

Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im told CNN that the shooting happened around 3:25 a.m. Saturday.

Im said three men were trying to steal a catalytic converter when the victim stopped them. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim, then they fled in a car.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead, Im said.

The LAPD did not confirm that the victim was Wector.

According to IMDB, Vector starred as Brandon Corbin on “General Hospital” from 2020 to 2022. Other acting credits include “Criminal Minds” and “Siberia.”
