Supplements That May Promote Longevity

Reversing the aging process is the ultimate aspiration but few take it as seriously as Dave Asprey.

A former Silicon Valley executive has invested millions in hacking his body clock.

The self-proclaimed “maverick of the entrepreneurial health sciences space” is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, CEO of Upgrade Labs, and host of a podcast called The Human Upgrade.

It says much about Asprey’s credentials that his lofty goal of living to 180 was met not with derision but with a mixture of intrigue and expectation.

Longevity (obviously) cannot be reduced to a single function and science in this area is rapidly developing.

Keeping that aside, GB News sat down with the rogue entrepreneur to get his take on the best supplements for longevity.

What does he take?

“There are a variety of supplements you can take to maintain longevity – most of them I’ve talked about on my podcast, human advancement” Asprey told GB News.

Before you get to the advanced stuff, the entrepreneur recommends sticking to the basics – a mix of minerals and fat-soluble vitamins.

Asprey explained: “Minerals are essential for every biochemical reaction that occurs in your body. The fat-soluble vitamins D, A, K and E help transport minerals where they need to be to work their magic. Is required.

“If you don’t have enough minerals (most of us don’t), you’ll age more quickly, no matter what other supplements you’re taking. That’s why I recommend sticking to the basics first. Am.”

Their recommendations have scientific support. one in perspective graph published in journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, Bruce Ames, a biochemist at the University of California, Berkeley, lists 41 vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids, that he says can help support healthy aging.

These substances help the body to run smoothly. If supplies become depleted, the body may have to pull resources away from functions like repairing DNA damage that keep cells young and healthy, but maintaining supplies can prevent this, according to Ames.

Once you understand these, you can start looking at “higher-level” formulations, such as those containing urolithin A, Asprey says.

This compound produced by the gut targets mitochondria, which are responsible for energy production in your body.

“When your mitochondria are not functioning well, you age faster. Urolithin A encourages your body to flush out weak mitochondria and grow new, healthy mitochondria,” Asprey explained.

Endorsed by Dr Mohammad Inayat to promote mitochondria.

Through his company, he is experimenting with new technologies to enhance these “powerhouses” of cells. HUM2NWhich specializes in slowing down and reversing the aging process.

“When your mitochondria don’t get the instructions they need from your body’s DNA to make energy, it can damage your cells or cause them to die early,” he previously told GB News.

What else does Asprey recommend?

The longevity entrepreneur recommends taking a blend of “powerful ancient plant extracts” that encourages your body to release stem cells.

As you age, the number of stem cells in your body decreases. As you age, their ability to rejuvenate your body also decreases.

“That’s why young people recover from injuries quicker,” Asprey said.

According to the CEO of Upgrade Labs, taking the right mix of herbal supplements can release stem cells from your bone marrow.

“These stem cells can reach tissues in your body that need healing. This is an amazing and cost-effective way to leverage the power of stem cells.”

It should be noted that there is limited evidence to suggest that stem cell supplements can increase the body’s stem cells. More research is needed to determine the effectiveness and safety of these products for different health conditions and general health purposes.

crazy about nad

Asprey is also a fan of NAD boosters like nicotinamide riboside (NR), nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), and niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3).

NAD is a coenzyme made in your body that is important for making energy, repairing damage, and supporting tissue function.

As you age, NAD levels decrease and scientists believe that this decrease in NAD levels may contribute to the symptoms of aging.

“We know that if we can change and increase your NAD+ levels, you will use oxygen better and make energy better at a cellular level,” Dr. Enyat said.

Very studies have demonstrated that increasing NAD+ levels increases insulin sensitivity, corrects mitochondrial dysfunction, and increases lifespan.

The above are some of Asprey’s favorite supplements, but they represent just a fraction of what he takes every day.

“I take over 100 pills a day. I won’t tell you everything I take, because what works for me won’t necessarily work for you,” he told GB News.
