The Detroit icon has cryptically dropped Easter eggs and hints about the project, while many details about potential features and a concrete release date are still kept under wraps. Eminem officially announced the project in April following his appearance at the NFL Draft in support of his hometown Detroit Lions.

Eminem ran a fake obituary Detroit Free Press Earlier this month (May 13), he bid farewell to a “controversial rapper” named Slim Shady.

Dr. Dre talks about Eminem’s album and reveals his involvement

Em replies, “Well, for my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear.”
The screen fades to black and the title “Houdini” appears along with the date May 31, 2024.

The album’s lead single debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 15, becoming his biggest charting hit since his No. 1 Rihanna collab “The Monster” in 2013–2014. The track also marks Em’s 23rd top 10.
