Adele hit back at a homophobic viewer during her latest Las Vegas residency show at Caesars Palace.
The 36-year-old singer fiercely defended the LGBTQ+ community after an attendee at her ‘Weekends With Adele’ show shouted that ‘pride is useless.’
He responded to the radical rioter from the stage, saying: ‘Are you stupid? Don’t be so ridiculous. If you don’t have anything nice to say, shut up, okay?’
Adele has many LGBTQ+ fans and has shown her support for the community on numerous occasions.
Last year, she celebrated Pride Month during her residency, wearing a sparkly black dress complete with a rainbow flag and Pride-themed confetti.
In 2016, Adele also paid tribute to the horrific massacre at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in which 49 people died.
Speaking on stage, pop star Ally said: ‘I’d like to start tonight by dedicating this whole show to Orlando and everyone who was at Pulse nightclub last night…
‘The LGBTQ community have been like soulmates to me since I was a kid, so I’m very inspired by that.’
The Hello hitmaker has also confirmed that his famous track I Set Fire to the Rain is a ‘gay anthem’.
He revealed that he wrote this big hit song after one of his gay friends said that his initial track ‘Chasing Pavements’ wasn’t gay enough, and so he came up with the idea of creating a new song for gay people.
Adele revealed that over the years she has received many messages of gratitude from fans, saying that it was because of them that she found courage to open up.
She told Out magazine: ‘I get a lot of mail from people telling me that I make them happy to be themselves, and feel comfortable with who they are, which I love.’
And she remained supportive in her private life, even serving as minister at the wedding of her friend Allen Carr and her husband.
The comedian told MailOnline in 2018: ‘It was a very special day. She was amazing. She was initiated. I said, “Let me pay some money,” and she said: “No, I’m paying.” She paid for the whole thing.’
Adele also enjoys visiting popular gay bars, shocking fellow patrons in 2019 by arriving at Pieces, a gay bar in New York, with Jennifer Lawrence.
The Grammy winner and the movie star reportedly danced, drank alcohol, hugged shirtless men and took selfies together.
And in 2022, she visited GAY at Heaven nightclub and took to the stage with RuPaul’s Drag Race star Cheryl Hole, showing off her pole-dancing moves.
However, Adele has also made it clear that if her son ever comes out as gay, she would be a proud and supportive mother to him.
she shares Angelo, 11-year-old son with ex-husband Simon Konecki said in an interview with Time magazine in 2015: ‘I can’t wait to find out who his best friends will be, who his girlfriend or boyfriend will be or what movies he likes… Whatever my child wants to do or be, I will always support him, no matter what.’
Last month, Adele revealed that she wants another child and hopes to have a daughter this time.
The Rolling In The Deep singer secretly married her husband Rich Paul late last year, and has said they both want a baby.
Speaking onstage at her Las Vegas residency show, she admitted: ‘Once I’ve finished all my responsibilities and shows, I want to have a baby.
‘I want a girl because I already have a boy. I think she’ll probably be the most loved person in the world, but probably also the most hated person in the world – that’s how it will be, I think.’
Adele joked that the little girl will eventually become a “cocky little queen” thanks to her parents.
He said: ‘She’ll put me in my place all the time, won’t she? I’m her mom and Rich is her dad, so she’s gonna be a domineering little queen, right?’
