The YouTuber known as Comixtorian was 40 years old

Ben Potter, the YouTube personality known as Comixtorian, died on June 8 in what his wife, Nathalie Potter, described as an “unfortunate accident.” He was 40.

The details of his death, including the specific cause and place, were not revealed in a statement given by his wife on X.

As Comicstorian, Potter built a devoted fan base with his original audio dramatizations of comic books, with more than 3 million subscribers and nearly 4,000 YouTube videos over the past 10 years. In numerous YouTube videos, he discusses and analyzes aspects of the Marvel and DC universes.

Nathalie Potter writes, “To many of you, he was the Comicstorian, giving voice to stories across many different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the nicest and most supportive people anyone could hope for.

“As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend or even a stranger,” she adds, “Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our support and reassured his loved ones whenever they needed it.”

His wife called Potter’s channel “one of his greatest accomplishments”, and vowed that she and Potter’s team “want to keep it going” in order to “honor great people by continuing to tell their great stories, while also keeping the memory of our own superheroes alive.”

“We supported each other in everything we wanted to do, and I’m not going to stop now,” Nathalie Potter writes.
